Poetry on a Thursday!

Quotes from Rabindranath Taore, a poet that I like:
Man is immortal; therefore he must die endlessly.
For life is a creative idea;
it can only find itself in changing forms.

Happy Wednesday!

I love the freedom of being done with a string of midterms! =) I can finally do the things I love best, like wandering around campus exploring new niches, randomly reading books in the bookstore, organizing and reorganizing my stationary supplies, writing in my diary and blog, doodling in my sketchpad..and on and on and on! I really love being a college student and having the freedom to eat whenever I want, skip through campus if I feel like it, nap in the library if I'm sleepy, chat with friends over nutella crepes and frozen yogurt, and just sit in the same lecture hall as professors who are so well reknowned in their respective fields! Everything is so exciting and new and fresh to me. =)

Some pictures:

Keith's teriyaki chicken at Asian ghetto... Wow...look at the yummy California roll sushi, juicy orange slices, succulent chicken, and crispy potstickers! AND the watermelon slushi!

And this would be me hiding =)

One of my favorite places in Berkeley -- the North Reading Room in Doe Library. When I'm bored or tired of studying, I just lay the back of my head on the chair and examine the beautiful motiffs on the ceiling...or try to figure out what other people are studying....or just sit in quiet wonder/gratitude.

Strange, crispy bread appetizers at the Indian Palace restaurant. They had a zesty lemon aftertaste to them which was quite interesting. =)

The chicken tandoori that I shared with Keith! We both thought it would be curry, but the dish was dry. It was delicious though!

Presents

Thursday, April 10, 2008

Highlights of the week =)

1) The first bite of a sweet apple in the morning.

2) Bio lab laughs and goofy mistakes and major confusion while drawing up cladograms.

3) Late-night crepe run with Keith - the bliss of strolling in the cool night while munching on a warm crepe filled with delicious nutella and fresh strawberries (or bananas, in Keith's case)!! Also, our mini "race" up the steps of Foothill.

4) Breakfast at Crossroads (one of my goals since last semester!)

5) Studying at the East Asian Library-- I like the wood decor, the peaceful atmosphere, and the newness of all the furniture =)

6) Deep, meaningful talks with friends and the strong current of understanding that flows between two people experiencing the same emotions.

7) Applauding after a professor's last lecture for the semester-- I really feel that teachers/educators deserve to be acknowledged and recognized for their work! =)

Happiness!

How unfortunate--I just missed the "good shower" by one second!! And now I have to practice some patience while another person is using up my shower time haha =)

Anyway, I feel really happy right now despite just coming back from a committee meeting and being both chilly and tired. I think it might be a sugar high from consuming those delicious milano cookies! Or the fact that loud music blasting from first-floor Dwinelle contrasted quite humorously with the professional development's powerpoint presentation. Wow, I know this is quite obvious--in fact, very obvious-- but I realized today while watching the presentation that business is ALL about making profits and money!

Lessee what other interesting things happened today... I kept running into people at the GBC. Berkeley is really smaller than I thought it would be; the campus itself is quite compact. Sometimes I even see people I don't officially *know* over and over again! I recgonize them by their weirdly colored shoes or striking hairdoes haha. =)
